Organize surveys with projects

Use projects to keep your survey list tidy. Create a project, drop surveys into it, rename it as your work evolves, and delete it when the work is done.

Create a project

You can create a project from two places.

From the sidebar

  1. In the left sidebar, click Create New Project at the top.
  2. The New project dialog opens.
  3. Enter a Project name (up to 80 characters).
  4. Optional: click the icon button in the name field to pick a color (6 choices) and an icon (default, graph, chart, award, key, bag, emoji, star).
  5. Click Create.

You land on the empty project page, ready to add your first survey.

When creating a survey

If your workspace has no projects yet, PollPe creates one called My Surveys automatically the first time you create a survey, so you never have to start from a blank workspace.

Add a survey to a project

When you click Create Survey anywhere in the app, the New survey dialog opens with two fields:

  • Survey title
  • Project

The Project picker is pre-filled when you start from inside a project page. Pick a different project from the list, or type a new project name to create one inline. Click Create survey and the survey lands in the project you chose.

Move a survey between projects

PollPe does not have drag and drop for moving surveys. You move a survey by editing its details.

  1. Open the project that contains the survey.
  2. On the survey card, click the three-dot menu and choose Edit Survey Details.
  3. The Edit Survey Details dialog opens with the current title, category, and project.
  4. Change the Project to the one you want.
  5. Click Update Survey.

The survey disappears from the old project and appears in the new one immediately. Responses, workflows, and shared links stay intact.

If you want a copy in another project instead of moving the original, use Duplicate Survey from the same three-dot menu, then change the project on the duplicate.

Rename a project

  1. In the sidebar, hover the project row and click the three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Rename.
  3. The Update project dialog opens with the current name, color, and icon.
  4. Edit any of the three fields.
  5. Click Update.

Renaming is safe at any time. Survey URLs, share links, results, and integrations are all tied to survey IDs, not project names.

Change the project icon or color

The icon and color live alongside the name in the Update project dialog. Pick from the 6 color swatches and 8 icons. Changes are visible in the sidebar as soon as you save. There is no separate "change icon" action.

Delete a project

Deleting a project deletes every survey, response, and report inside it. This cannot be undone.

  1. Hover the project row in the sidebar and open the three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Delete.
  3. The first confirmation appears in red, listing the project name and warning that all editors will lose access.
  4. Click Delete Project.
  5. A second confirmation appears. Type the word delete in the input. The button stays disabled until the input matches.
  6. Click Delete Project again.

There is no archive option in PollPe today. If you want to retire a project without deleting it, rename it with a prefix like zz Old: so it sorts to the bottom of the sidebar.

Tips on project structure

A few patterns from teams running PollPe at scale:

  • One project per campaign works best when surveys have a clear start and end. The project becomes the campaign post-mortem container.
  • One project per team works when ownership matters more than time. Marketing keeps its own project. Support keeps its own. Crossover surveys go in whichever team owns the response handling.
  • One project per quarter works for high-volume teams that ship a new survey every week. It also gives you a natural cadence for cleanup.
  • Keep a Drafts or Sandbox project for surveys that are not ready for prime time. Move them to the real project when you publish.
  • Avoid one giant All surveys project. The whole point of projects is the sidebar filter.

You can mix patterns. There is no penalty for restructuring later. Surveys move between projects in a few clicks.
