Dropdown
The Dropdown question is great when you want users to select a single answer from a list without taking up much screen space. It works especially well on mobile and for long lists.
When to Use
Use a dropdown when:
- You want to save space on the form
- You have a long list of answers (e.g. age range, country, city, etc.)
- You want to guide users to pick one response only
Customizing the Dropdown Question
When you select "Dropdown" from the content types, you can:
- Enter your question label and optional description
- You can use basic formatting options like bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and links within the label and description.
- Add as many options as needed manually or via Bulk Add
- Set a placeholder (e.g., "Select your answer")
- Choose if the question is mandatory
- Enable additional options like:
- Randomize: shuffle the options for each user
- Alphabetical Order
- Other: allow users to enter a custom response
Respondent Preview
Users will see a single-select dropdown input. They can tap to reveal the options and pick one.
Need multi-select instead? Try the Multiple Choice type.
